April 2026

It was not an easy journey, but rather one of those enjoyable trips to share the Gospel message with many Christians who know nothing about what they believe in; they were born Christians in a Christian country that follows a Christian culture, yet they know nothing about Christianity.

My trip this month was to a town called Rusizi, located in the southwest of Rwanda, on the borders of Congo and Burundi. We travelled for about 9 hours until we reached a place to sleep, then we resumed our journey on Sunday morning deep into the mountains for about an hour and a half on unpaved roads. We eventually reached a point where we continued our journey on foot, climbing up the mountain to reach the church, where the people were waiting eagerly, having gathered from different places and villages in the mountains. I do not mention this for any personal reason, but I truly felt exhausted from this journey.

However, what amazed me on our way back—as we were driving down the mountain road—was seeing three women carrying bags on their heads. The pastor told me that they had come from a distance that takes 3 hours by car, but they came walking through the mountains to reach the church, and there they were, returning to their village. How could these women walk all this distance up and down the mountains for more than 12 hours? This was astonishing to me. I was tired from the distance I covered by car, while these women, who are in their fifties, walk all this way back and forth just to hear the Word of God.

We have concluded our journey this month with this group of pastors with whom we began the journey in October 2025. We pray that God preserves the impact of what they have learned and grants them grace in teaching others in their regions and churches.

Regarding the women's meeting led by Abir, it is going wonderfully. Abir has noticed a transformation in the lives of these women and an increased longing to hear the Word of God. They have begun to show their deep need for God's Word, even wanting the meeting to last for more than two hours.

It is truly wonderful to see someone share their suffering, weep, and ask for prayer and guidance, as these women live very difficult lives without husbands. They live with their children and are entirely responsible for all their needs. We ask you to please pray for them

Prayer Requests:

  • We need prayer for the provision of the financial needs of the ministry within the churches, and for the training and education of pastors.

  • We pray that God changes hearts to know the Word of God.

  • We will begin training about 20 pastors in a nearby village, about two hours from the capital. We pray that these pastors will be a testimony and a light to the villages and churches in this region.
